Jasr Digital

Privacy notice

This notice explains what happens to your personal data when you visit this website, jasrdigital.com, and when you send us a message through it. It covers this website only.

Who we are

Jasr Digital Company FZE, United Arab Emirates (licence no. 4432040), decides how your personal data is used on this website. In data-protection law, this makes us the “controller”.

For any question about your personal data, write to privacy@jasrdigital.com.

What we collect

What you type into the contact form:

  • your email address (required);
  • the subject and your message (required);
  • your name and your company (optional).

You do not have to write to us. But if you do, we need your email address: without it, we cannot reply.

Please do not put sensitive personal data in your message, such as information about your health, your religion or beliefs, or identity, passport or bank card numbers.

If you write to us by email instead, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach.

To stop automated spam, the form also sends how long the page was open before you pressed Send, and a field that only robots fill in. We check them and keep neither.

Like every website, this one also receives technical data each time you open a page: your IP address and what your browser sends with each request, such as its type and language. Cloudflare handles this data for us, as described below.

Why we use it

We use your details only to answer your message and, if you ask us to, to follow up with you about our services.

The law asks us to name our reasons, called the “legal basis”. Ours are:

  • taking the steps you ask for before a possible contract with us (GDPR article 6(1)(b));
  • our legitimate interest in answering the enquiries people send us (GDPR article 6(1)(f));
  • our legitimate interest in showing you this website and keeping it and the form safe from abuse (GDPR article 6(1)(f)).

Under UAE law, our reason is the steps you ask for before a possible contract (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021, article 4(9)). For any other message, it is your consent, which you give by sending it and can withdraw at any time. Under Saudi law, our reason is our legitimate interest in answering you and in keeping this website safe (Personal Data Protection Law, article 6(4)).

We do not use your details for anything else, and we never sell them.

Who receives it

Two companies help us run this website. For your message, both act as our service providers (in law, “processors”): they may use it only on our instructions.

  • Cloudflare, Inc. hosts this website and runs our form code. It handles your IP address while your message travels to us, and for a one-minute count of how many messages come from the same address (for a newer IPv6 address, from the same home or office network), so that we can block abuse. Our code stores nothing. Cloudflare also uses technical data about visits, such as IP addresses, for its own purpose of running and protecting its network. For that use it decides for itself, as a separate controller, under its own privacy policy (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy).
  • Google (Google Workspace). A Google Apps Script delivers your message to our mailbox, and Gmail keeps it there.

We share your data with no one else, unless the law requires us to.

Transfers to other countries

We are a company of the United Arab Emirates. Our team may read and answer your message outside the country you live in.

Cloudflare and Google may process your data outside the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, including in the United States. Their terms with us bind them to protect it and, for your message, to use it only on our instructions. For data covered by EU law, the European Commission has decided that companies certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, as Cloudflare and Google are, protect personal data adequately, and their terms also include the EU’s standard contractual clauses. The Commission has made no such decision for the United Arab Emirates or Saudi Arabia. You can ask us for a copy of these safeguards at privacy@jasrdigital.com.

How long we keep it

We keep your message only as an email in our Google Workspace mailbox, for 12 months after our last exchange with you. Every three months we delete the emails that have passed that time and empty them from the trash. Google then erases them from its systems within 180 days, as its terms with us require.

The count used against abuse lasts one minute.

Our code keeps none of the technical data. Cloudflare keeps it only as long as it needs it to run and protect its network.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • know what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it (access);
  • have it corrected if it is wrong (correction);
  • have it deleted (deletion);
  • ask us to limit how we use it (restriction);
  • object to how we use it (objection);
  • receive it in a common format, or have it sent to another organisation (portability);
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it. This does not affect what we did before.

Your right to object. Where we rely on our legitimate interest, you can object at any time, for reasons linked to your situation. We will then stop, unless we have compelling reasons that override yours or we need the data for a legal claim.

To use any of these rights, write to privacy@jasrdigital.com. We will answer within one month. We may ask you to show that the request is yours, for example by writing from the email address you used.

Where to complain

If you are not happy with how we handle your data, please tell us. You can also complain to a data-protection authority, without writing to us first:

  • in the United Arab Emirates, the UAE Data Office;
  • in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA);
  • in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the supervisory authority where you live.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads nothing from other websites.

Cloudflare, which hosts it, processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site to you and to protect it from abuse.

Other things to know

  • No decision about you is made by a computer alone, and we do not build profiles. (Our spam checks only decide whether a message is delivered. If you have had no answer, write to support@jasrdigital.com.)
  • We send no marketing emails. We write to you only to answer your message.
  • This website is not aimed at children.
